Small business selling condoms
So part of my job is outreach to the community - we work to get them in to get tested and educate them on how to stay protected as well as use condoms.
We have so much fun in the things that we do and I really enjoy my job.
zum Beispiel:
On Tuesday my branch of Americorps had a training at my site, Acadiana C.A.R.E.S.
Since it was at MY site, they asked me to get in front of everyone and talk a little about what CARES is about and what, specifically, I do there. I ended up talking for about an hour, answering questions, and even gave a female condom demonstration.
It was ridiculous and so awesome.
They even gave me a plant afterward - it was supposed to be for the lady who was scheduled to come and speak about diversity but she thought it was on a different day..
I named the plant Bernie. He is some sort of fern.. I'm not sure.
I'll ask Karita one day.

one of jared's favorite stories was about that girl who had chickens at lsmsa. one of the first days at lsmsa, she was like I CAN NAME PLANTS!
and he was like, ... that's special?
and then he realized she meant like real names, and not making up names like george for plants. and that he sounded like a jerk.
its weird how you learn people's stories well when you're aroudn them enough.
but kudos for speaking in front of people well. rahrahrahrah.
